FAQ of what people might want to know about the events/challenges
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL CHALLENGE?
It's a race/challenge that can take place in your own time, at your own pace and wherever you want. It can be completed around a track, your local park/gym, at the beach or even on holiday. As long as you complete the race/challenge you will receive your medal.
WHO CAN ENTER?
Absolutely anyone can enter! We do ask that if your child is under 18 and wants to enter that they complete the distance under supervision and in a safe environment. Why not join them and complete it together? Other than that, there are no restrictions. All challenges (excepts functional fitness challenges) can be done by running, walking, swimming, cycling, whatever your would like to do as long as you are having fun! EMOM Sports Nutrition will not be held responsible for any injury that may occur during the challenges. You undertake the challenges entirely at your own risk.
The Functional Fitness Challenges (depending on the challenge) will require you to have some knowledge of the functional fitness industry (aka crossfit). Again, we cannot be held liable for any injury that may occur during these challenges.
HOW DO I ENTER MY CHOSEN CHALLENGE?
It's easy to do! On the EMOM Sports Nutrition website there is a tab called Virtual Challenge. Click the tab to open the virtual challenge page. Have a look at which Event you would like to do. Click on your chosen race/challenge and add to your basket. You can add as many to your basket for the amount of people want to take part (maybe the whole family).
NB! This does not mean you will receive your medal. This just enters you into the race. You need to submit evidence of the completion and then you will receive your medal via post.
WHAT IS CHALLENGE EVIDENCE?
There are many running/tracking apps available that you can use (those with fitness watches can used example garmin, apple, fitbit ect... or without a watch you can find these on your google play store, apple play store or samsung playstore).
All your need to do is take a screen shot at the completion and email it to us on:
firstname.lastname@example.org, please ensure you state your invoice number which will be on invoice.
If you are using a stationery exercise machine (treadmill, rowing machine, bike) you may take a picture of the display and email it to us. If you feel that you might not be able to do the race in one go you are more than welcome to do it over as many days as you like, just submit all the evidence once completed.
(each event will have a start date and a cut off period to ensure we keep you motivated to finish)
DO YOU ONLY ACCEPT RUNNING EVIDENCE?
NO! Everyone out there is at their own stage of fitness and has their preferred way to exercise. We are happy to accept any trackable exercise. This can be running, walking, cycling, functional training, rollerblading, stationery exercise (treadmill, bike ect) the list can carry on. Do what makes you happy :)
YOU HAVE FUNCTIONAL FITNESS CHALLENGES! HOW DO I SUBMIT MY EVIDENCE FOR THOSE?
Depending on the challenge, you can take a picture of yourself just before you begin with a date time stamp and then another picture later you have completed with another date time stamp. If it requires running, then you can also submit the information from your tracking app.
DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE DISTANCE ALL IN ONE GO?
No your don't have to. You know what fitness level you are at and what your capabilities are. You are more than welcome to split up the race over a few days or weeks (but remember to finish it before the cut off date, if the challenge has one). For example, if the event is a 16km challenge, you could split it up and do it over two days at 8km per day, or 4km per day over four days. The choice is yours.
*One exception is the Functional Fitness Events which needs to be completed in the same day. However, if after completing the challenge you feel that you could have done it better, you can try it again on another day. Submit your results only once you are happy.
HOW FAR DO I HAVE TO GO?
Our challenges will have different KM/miles that you would need to complete and are clearly labelled in the race description. Some of our challenges will have "my own distance", on this event you just set yourself a target goal and own it! Also "my own distance" challenges are great if you would like to do it with the whole family, young or old and complete it all together.
* The Functional Fitness Challenges will have specific challenges set out which will also be in the descriptions for each event.
WHEN WILL I GET MY MEDAL?
Medals will be sent out by Royal Mail second class post. When will I get my medal? All challenge evidence are grouped to date, which we then aim to post off every 3 weeks. All medals will be sent to the address you submit when entering the event. Please make sure you enter the correct address or notify us if you have moved. An admin fee of £6 will be charged for a replacement which can only provide if we have surplus stock available.
HOW CAN I RAISE MONEY FOR CHARITY?
Some of our races /challenges are specifically for charity. You will find the name of the charity in the description of the race / challenge and you just need to select this to enter. We will move the set amount over to the “saving pot” and at the end of each month we will send the total amount of money raised over to the charity.
EMOM Sports Nutrition’s aim is to always help were we can and this is an ongoing goal for us.
